Carl Cooper
Carl Cooper has been a community activist on Langley for over 15 years.

Carl worked closely with Irene Edge in developing the Langley Tower Blocks Tenants Association. As he saw the estate going down, he was more determined than ever to get involved and do something about it – and he's never looked back.

His breadth of experience has meant that he has got involved in a number of organisations like FAME -The Federation of All Manchester Estates.

He was involved in developing an effective neighbour nuisance document that is now in use in the local areas. He is most proud of "what he has achieved for others."

"I really like to see somebody happy and people saying thanks keeps you going and interested in voluntary work"

Carl is also Vice Chair of MAP - Middleton Area Partnership and is particularly happy to note that "other areas are now coming to Langley to see how we do things. It's really important to remind everyone that at the end of the day we are all working with real people! It 's peoples homes and lives we are dealing with – that's what matters"
